Structural Investigations of the Tetracyano- platinate(II) Complex and its Oligomers, Using Electronic Structure Calculations, Emission Spectroscopy, and Solution X-ray Scattering.
The ground state structure of this transition metal complex with exciting photophysical properties has been examined with a variety of computational and experimental methods. The distance between the platinum atoms in the oligomers it forms when solvated, has been examined using X-ray scattering. The knowledge obtained during the project will help pave the way for further, transient studies of the system.
