Concept China Competences

Concept China Competences offers you a unique opportunity to better understand China and your Chinese partners and work proactively to improve your collaboration.

Concept China Competences is comprised of two course dates and includes expert lectures on Chinese powers structures, educational system, culture and philosophy, networking events, workshops, case studies all with the goal of improving the cooperation between Chinese and Danish partners in research and education.

It addresses challenges both at the institutional levels as well as the practical and personal level.

Participants are expected to actively integrate their own experiences, challenges and worries into the activities of the events, especially in the workshop setting.

Full-day event 21 May 2012

During the course of the program you will be better equipped to meet the challenges of such cooperation by learning about Chinese culture and institutional structures from China experts and discussing real-life situations and issues with peers who have extensive China experience.

See the programme here.

We have the honor of having workshop leaders and speakers participating in this event who have intricate knowledge of China’s political system – formal as well as informal - economy, culture, and fields of research and innovation.

Participants will work with a workshop leader with valuable experience in a matching nature of cooperation, and the organizers will have collected interviews, cases and other relevant material as starting-point for the debates.

The workshop leaders are:

Jørgen Delman, professor of China Studies, University of Copenhagen

Stig Thøgersen, professor of China Studies, University of Aarhus

Martin Bech, Sino-Danish Center for education and Research, Industrial PhD student

Follow-up event 17 September 2012

Signing up for the workshop also includes a follow-up event taking place in the afternoon on 17 September 2012.

The follow-up event will give all participants a chance to reflect on the findings made during the workshop, share information, and network.

Under the guidance of culture and nutrition experts you will learn about the special status and relationship between food, health, and philosophy in Chinese culture. Social activities and the preparation of a traditional Chinese meal will be used as tool for further introduction to Chinese life and culture.

Finally, participants are expected to give presentations of what they have gained from the preceding events, how they have applied their new knowledge in practice, and what they have done to improve cooperation and personal ties with Chinese partners since the 21 May.
