Microwave quantum optics with the dynamical Coulomb blockade

In the dynamical Coulomb blockade processes in which a Cooper pair tunnels across a Josephson junction are accompanied by emission of microwave photons or photon pairs. In recent experiments it has become possible to detect this microwave emission directly. I will discuss the quantum optical properties of the emitted light using a master equation approach rather than the usual P(E) theory and the analogies with more traditional quantum optical systems such as the laser-driven optical cavity and the optical parametric oscillator.
