Conference: From Nanoscience to Biotechnology: Sensors and Delivery Systems

INTRODUCTION

Nanotechnology offers new tools for approaching biological materials and systems. We can now sense, view, manipulate, target, deliver, and package as we never could before.
  • Will these insights and methods power the R&D renaissance needed by the biotech and pharma industries to flourish in our financially challenging times?
  • Will they create the cross-disciplinary innovation needed at our universities?
  • Will they deliver the cost-effective and streamlined processes needed at our hospitals?
Come to hear about the research and development underway, the challenges and the opportunities - and decide for yourself.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

We have arranged for three world-class keynote speakers to present their thoughts about the opportunities for innovation through combining nanotech and biotech with examples from their own research programmes:

  • Prof. Fredrik Höök, Chalmers Univ.
Miniaturized bioanalytical sensors in diagnostics and drug screening; challenges and opportunities
  • Prof. David Needham, Duke Univ.
Design and Testing of Novel Thermally Sensitive Liposomal Formulations for Treatment of Local Tumors: A New Paradigm for Drug Delivery
  • Dr. Eric Allémann, Bracco Research
When light or ultrasound interacts with nano- and microconstructs – Improved diagnosis and treatment opportunities

Programme available online.

CALL FOR PAPERS

There will be four parallel tracks in all – two sets of two – where you can present your research:
Gene Delivery
Nanotechnology for Biosensors
Protein and peptide Delivery
Nanotechnology for Diagnostics and Screening

Please register online and submit a title and abstract for your presentation.

SCIENCE DATING & NETWORKING

The conference also features short one-on-one brainstorming sessions for all presenters with interested participants – Science Dating – and our traditional sushi and beer networking at day’s end.

REGISTRATION

Participation in the conference is free. Places are limited to 120 and we have over 40 registered as of March 12th, so please register online at your earliest convenience.
Exhibitors can contact Vivian Juhl at +45 4323 2458 for more information.

We look forward to seeing you on May 12th!
