Linking Theoretical Studies (T) with Experiment
Nano-Chalk workshop June 30 to July 1.
The experimental work focuses on calcite, chalk, water, and aqueous solutions with the aim of understanding oil behaviour in the Danish North Sea, using nano-techniques for investigating small particles and solid interfaces. The theoretical work uses several approaches, including ab-initio, density function theory, molecular dynamics and monte carlo to investigate the interaction of fluids on mineral surfaces, mainly aimed at understanding biomineralisation. We are all excited about the new information we get when we combine theory with experiment.
