Summer school - Patent Commercialisation

This summer Nano-Science Center and Katapult offers 25 master and PhD students the possibility to participate in the brand new summer school in Patent Commercialisation at University of Copenhagen. Based on KU patents or on your own ideas.
You can learn to:
• Work with structured innovation
• Work with Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
• Determine capital requirements & establish budgets
• Make a patent novelty search
• Identify business opportunities in a patent
• Analyse costumers value proposition
• Set up questionnaires and interview costumers
• Read a patent
• Make a sales pitch
You will meet people from the industry, top researchers, IPR specialists, management experts and committed students.
Time: The summer school begins Friday August 19 and ends Friday August 26 2011
Where: HCØ, Universitetsparken 5, Copenhagen
ECTS: 2,5, maximum 25 people

Tentative course plan:
Friday: Welcome and introduction to rapid prototyping, Patent presentation
by researcher, group formation by ITP profiles.
Monday: Introduction to market survey, Group work: Set up questionnaire & interview
stakeholder/customers, sum up of ideas to business area where patented technology
can be used.
Tuesday: Sum up segments, Intro to value creation & demand, group work market survey qualify concrete ideas on products/processes.
Wednesday: Introduction to capital requirement & liquidity budget, determination of capital requirement and liquidity budget, introduction to mini business plan.
Thursdag: Introduction to sale and pitching, group work on elevator pitch, group work on business plan.
Friday: Pitching plan to business panel & oral exam.
