Classical interpretation of macroscopic quantum observations in Josephson systems

Abstract:
We investigate the simple classical RCSJ-model (Resistively and Capacitively Shunted Josephson model, alias pendulum model) of the Josephson junction in order to study the system response to pulsed microwave perturbations at very low temperatures. The transient response resembles many of the experimental observations commonly attributed to macroscopic quantum phenomena.
