Abstract
Ions play an important role in our life. It concerns the physiology in the human body, pre-cipitations and bacterial growth in oil and gas industry and corrosion science among several other disciplines. Analyses are needed both in research to get more knowledge and in routine analysis. In some cases it is enough to know the elements in the sample. In other cases the element are included in molecules. Compare for instance nitrogen in ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, hydrazine etc that all have different properties. The theory behind Ion Chromatography and examples of applications will be presented
