Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship and innovation are given high priority at the Nano-Science Center. Our research depends upon us getting new ideas and using new knowledge. This is the core of our work. Many ideas and companies have developed and grown in our research milieu. Four businesses, Atomistix, MothMortensen, SunFlake and Hytronics Aps, have been established in this way, based on research at the Nano-Science Center.
There is an interest among researchers and students to take new ideas and start their own business, but the road to do so is often long and difficult. Business plans have to be made, industry partners have to be found and many legal questions must be addressed.
In order to support researchers and students in realising their plans the Faculty of Science has established the Student Incubation Centre, Katapult. Here students have the opportunity to spar with experienced business people, researchers and mentors as well as participate in seminars and workshops. If you would like further information about Katapult you can contact the project leader Peter Conrad Ottesen, tel: +45 35 32 42 13.
