A study environment full of activity

Courses in Nanoscience takes place at the H.C. Ørsted Institute (HCØ) where you will meet students from the other subjects of study at the Faculty of Science, such as physics, chemistry, and mathematics.

From the very first day professors as well as older students will take good care of you. A comprehensive introduction (called RUS-tour) will be arranged for all new students, during which you will visit the other institutes, meet other new students, and talk to older students about the experiences and challenges ahead. The RUS-tour will end with the RUS-weekend, which is a get-together where new as well as older students spend the weekend together in a cottage to build up good social relations from the very beginning of the study.

At the Nano-Science Center we have a strong tradition of dialogue and meetings between students and professors. Here at the Center you wont be sitting alone and unnoticed on the back row - you will be encouraged and challenged to participate actively in the lectures and you can yourself take part in the development and improvement of the lectures.

At the Nano-Science Center we also get together outside the stone walls of the auditoriums. During the year there will be skiing trips, Friday bars, plays, Christmas party, sport tournaments and - not least - our very own 'Dwarf Party', where mixed teams of scientists, professors and students compete against each other in disciplines such as building a catapult out of things such as strips, nuts, shelf supporters, and a great deal of creativity. In the evening competitors celebrate the battle with a grand party.
